At The Bentley Library and The Bentley Store (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we value the privacy of individuals who use our websites and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and share pers11onal information from users of:

• TheBentleyLibrary.com (library site with book information, author pages, updates, and learning resources), and
   
• The Bentley Store (our catalog/landing environment where books are listed alphabetically, by author, and by genre, each with a direct link to its Amazon page for purchase).
   

By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, disclosure, and processing of your information as described in this Privacy Notice.

“Personal information” means information that identifies or could reasonably be used to identify a specific person. It does not include de-identified or aggregated information.

1) Information You Provide

• Registration & Account Info. If you sign up for an account, newsletter, or updates, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. We may also ask for optional demographic details (e.g., age range, interests) to improve your experience.
   
• Communications. If you contact us (e.g., customer support or general inquiries), we may collect your contact details and the contents of your message and attachments.
   
• Events. If you register for in-person or virtual events, we may collect your name, title, organization, and email, plus information specific to the event.
   
• User Content. We may allow posts, comments, reviews, or other user-generated content that could be shared publicly through our Services.
   
• Payment Information. Purchases occur on Amazon. When you click a book in The Bentley Store or TheBentleyLibrary.com, you are taken to the book’s Amazon page to complete your purchase. Amazon collects and processes payment information under its own privacy policy. If we ever accept payments directly, we (or our payment processor) would collect the necessary payment data at checkout.
   
• Job Applications. If you apply to work with us, we may collect your name, contact details, work/education history, references, and related information.
   

2) Information Collected Automatically

• Device & Log Data. IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, and timestamps.
   
• Usage Data. Interactions with our pages and features (e.g., sessions, clicks, search activity, crash reports).
   
• Cookies & Similar Technologies. We and our service providers may use cookies, pixel tags, and similar tools to operate, analyze, and improve the Services. Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or are deleted.
   

3) Information From Other Sources

• Third-Party Destinations (e.g., Amazon). When you click a book link to Amazon, you are using Amazon’s site and services, which are governed by Amazon’s terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment details from Amazon.
   
• Legal, Safety, and Compliance. We may disclose information to comply with law or legal process, respond to requests, protect rights and safety, and prevent fraud or abuse.
   
• Events & Co-Sponsors. If you register for events, we may share necessary information with partners/co-sponsors.
   
• Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction and remain subject to this Privacy Notice (or a successor notice with comparable protections).
   
• With Consent. We may share information for any purpose disclosed and agreed to at the time of collection.

Our Services may link to third-party websites, products, or services (including Amazon for purchases). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. This Privacy Notice does not apply to your activity on those third-party services. Please review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against accidental loss, unauthorized access, and misuse. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other U.S. privacy laws for any personal information collected from children under 13. For questions about how we handle children’s data, contact writers@thebentleylibrary.com.

Our Services are hosted in the United States and intended for U.S. users. If you use the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. We may also transfer data to other countries in connection with operations.
